The hotel is showing its age and is somewhat run down,
A good central place to stay in Brockville within walking distance to shops. Easy drive to downtown (but also walkable). Eat at the Buell Street Bistro, or the new Tandoori Restaurant on King St. East. Be sure to drive the 1000 Island Parkway to see the beautiful villages and tourist attractions. Don't forget the excellent Scuba diving here also.
Door needed oiling, very squeaky. Pool temperature of 92f too warm for normal relaxation or swimming.
The Hotel was a great choice. The front desk staff was fast and very friendly. We had the free breakfast, eggs, fruit, bagles, ect. The rooms where clean and the beds where quite comfy.
I liked the place just by the highway. I liked the swiming pool and the spa. I liked the frigo in the room. I liked the kindless of the staff.
Breakfast was included and was decent - comparable to other hotels offering free breakfast. Staff were polite.
Hotel appears to be run down - owners do not appear to be investing monies to update this previously prestigious hotel (I use to live in the area and know what I'm talking about). Becoming part of the Quality Inn chain seems to have been a downgrade to this venue. The gym area also looks run down. I tried to use their business centre to print off flight information but was unable to access any internet-based email as the computer programs had not been updated recently.
Location , very friendly staff Need to put up a new Canadian Flag as yours is all grey and old while all the other flags looked new ,should change your Canadian flag at least once a year
The facilities at the Royal Brock are great. It's the only hotel in Brockville that has an indoor pool. It also has a hot tub racketball court and small gym for working out.
Our room and bathroom appeared outdated and dingy. It didn't seem to be sparkling clean either but that's probably in part beacuse everything is so old. I also found the matteress very uncomfortable because it was extreamly firm, nothing like the soft pillowtop mattress I have at home. With that said, we may stay there again since having indoor pool access gives our toddler something to do. If having a pool isn't important to you then I'd reccomend staying somewhere else.
We had our 14 yr old grandson with us.. He loved being in"a foreign country" for a ngiht Breakfast was just the tops.
Free newspaper, morning breakfast (good variety) included, access to a fairly nice gym & pool. Very convenient from the highway. Minutes from downtown and the scenic river.
"Tired" feeling. The Royal Brock's best days are in the past. Dated carpeting and fixtures. Very disagreeable, strong-scented cleaning agent used on ground floor in the morning. Smelled like cheap men's cologne. Desk staff very friendly, but were kept waiting over 5 minutes on check-in (no on there). Then a rather dissheveled man appeared (and did a good job).
Good location and reasonable price for what was supplied
Hotel is very tired. Needs update. Found woodlice in room. Breakfast staff were very surly
location and price.
While many renovations have been done, it is still a little "tired", but comfortable.
We enjoyed our stay very much and will probably stay again.
I would have enjoyed seeing some hot entries on the breskfast buffet.
Best hotel in Brockville. Great pool and exercise facilities. Very good breakfast -included eggs & sausages in lovely restaurant. Staff friendly and helpful.
TV channel selection mediocre, eg no TSN. Minor quibble. Excellent in every other way.
It was handy to the funeral
Very friendly desk clerk, prompt, efficient service, excellent rate, clean room, very comfortable bed and pillows.
Nothing bothered me. I was only there one night and only to sleep. But if I had needed to stay longer I still would have booked this hotel. Nothing fancy and an older hotel, but it was still welcoming, clean and comfortable.
